Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover anything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people kill his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil began playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Even though Ivey has won some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
