Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to pickup everything he could about the game. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning period and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Even though Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a regular basis.
