Holdem is all about gamblers and seating. All knowledgeable Hold’em players concur that seating in no restriction Hold’em is critically significant. Playing your hole cards in last spot can be much more beneficial than in early poker position. This is because much more information is gathered prior to acting.
As an example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit cash match at a local poker room. I bumbled in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer marker, just to see some fun. Flop came down A-A-4. A gambler in starting position placed a fifteen dollar bet. Two entrants drop out and it was my turn. I should have folded, but his betting seemed a bit off. I identified this contender as a weak-tight player, and normally if he had the biggest hand he would just check, so I called.
The turn arrived with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My competitor made another bet of $20. I debated for a while, but made a decision to re-raise another $30thirty dollars on top of his $20. He folds and I won the money.
Sitting at last position offers you an idea where you are positioned by observing how other gamblers behave and bet. On the other hand, players at early spot can use their poker spot to check-raise the late positioned competitors and corner them later at the end. In Hold’em, each ends, late and starting must be played cautiously.
