Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

He started competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated many of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying passion for poker. He says that he is learning every day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Although Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
